Air pollution control equipment used for particulate control include Wet and Dry Electrostatic Precipitators and Fabric Filters. Control of Particulate emissions emanating from the burning of solid and liquid fuels are normally controlled by Dry Electrostatic Precipitators or Fabric Filters. Dry electrostatic precipitators and Fabric Filters are used to control PM10, PM2.5 and other fine particulate. Wet Electrostatic Precipitators are used to control emissions of very fine particulate (less than 1 micron) from boiler sources, as well as process streams for the collection of acid mists, heavy metals and other condensable particulate matter. Wet Electrostatic Precipitator materials of construction vary due to flue gas chemistry at saturation.
