Clyde Bergemann Ltd (CBS), located in the South East of Glasgow, are manufacturers of on load boiler cleaning equipment for the world petrochemical and marine markets, UK and Poland Power markets, UK waste incineration and pulp and paper and world air and gas/gas heater markets.
CBS originated from the initial company Clyde Blowers Plc (now the Non-Power division of Clyde Bergemann Power Group based in East Kilbride, Scotland) who began in 1924 as a manufacturer of sootblowers for the locomotive industry. This product range was expanded and soon after Clyde Blowers was installing sootblowers into the water tube boilers of steam driven ships such as the Queen Mary and the Queen Elizabeth.
A further progression into the power market occurred in the 1950’s with the installation of the chain driven fully retractable sootblower into UK power stations (some of which are known to be in operation today). By the 1980’s Clyde had established themselves as the world leading manufacturer of chain driven sootblowers and was exploiting new markets with the introduction of blowers such as those for Ljungstrom type airheaters, the design and build of programmable control systems and special sootblowers for black liquor boilers in the pulp and paper industry. The involvement with blowers for Ljungstrom type air heaters lead directly to the development of the unique Clyde Jetblower, of which over 120 units have now been installed worldwide.
Today Clyde Bergemann Ltd has annual sales of approx £6 million, 90% of which is exported to over 50 countries worldwide. As well as manufacturing quality sootblowers for international markets, Clyde Bergemann also has an extensive After Sales organisation offering Spare Parts and Services such as maintenance contracts, overhauls and site surveys to new and existing customers. |
